Roles to be taken up

Shopmobility Worcester is in urgent need for more volunteers for a number of different roles. Could you, or a member of your family, or a neighbour, or friend help us to maintain our whole operation by coming to see us about one or more of the roles described below. In particular we need more ‘meet and greet’ volunteers to maintain our 6-day opening. You’re welcome to observe and we would give the appropriate training if you’d like to ‘give it a go’.

To find out more phone the office on 01905 610523 and ask the volunteer to pass a message to Jean or to Mark, or Email shopmobility@smworc.org.uk

Meet and greet.
Welcome customers and allocate a scooter or powerchair or wheelchair to each. Record each allocation on a daily sheet. Answer phone calls and take messages, or write appointments in a diary, or advise callers when you have enough experience. You would be shown all aspects of dealing with the equipment so that you would eventually be able to show customers.
